| Hail Storm Boys Compete in Collegiate Unofficial Men's Club Conference |
| Sports Academy is committed to bring boys/mens volleyball to Iredell and surrounding counties as has fielded one of the top boys, ages 15-18, Junior Olympic teams in NC. The team consist of players from Mooresville, eastern NC (Raleigh/Durham, Clinton), High Point and Waxhaw. Team is coaches by Trina Sharpe (Sports Academy), Sheila Holloway (East Wilkes and USAV High Performance Director) and Micheal O'Conner (Nationally recognized USAV and NCAA official). The team competed in the first annual Preiss Company Invitational tournament at Belk Arena on the campus of UNC Charlotte. The unofficial conference consist of teams from UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State, High Point University, Furman, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, University of SC and UNCC and reports results to the conference directors. Team Hail Storm received an invitation to accept a position made available by the withdrawal of Virginia Tech. "The team a fantastic job competing against much older mens college club players. After we got the guys settled in, they were awesome." Hail Storm lost the first 2 match to NCSU and a very close second match to UNC. They then went on to defeat UNCC and High Point University (B Team) and HPU (A Team). Team will travel to Daytona Beach on January 29 to compete in the Florida Fest National Qualifier. |

| Team Thunder Storm Defeats #1 NC Elite 16-1 25- 21, 25-22 in Semi Finals to advance to finals. Defeats Set Point 16 Black 25-17, 25-14 to WIN 16 PLATINUM REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Thunder Storm won the opening set against set point only to loose the match 1-2. Team goes on to defeat CCVC-TCA 16-1 (2-1) and Lake Norman VBC 16 Black (2-0) followed by a play in match against CCVC TCA 16-1 to advance to playoffs. |
